Claude Cowork is a working mode in Anthropic’s Claude where Claude can not only answer questions but also complete multi-step tasks on its own.
For example, Cowork can:
- gather information from several sources;
- read and organise files;
- prepare a report or a presentation;
- use connected applications;
- analyse documents and data;
- run recurring tasks automatically.
Cowork works like a virtual assistant. You describe the result you want, and Claude plans the steps it needs and does the work itself.
How to use it
- Open Claude.
- Select Cowork beside the message box.
- Write a clear task.
Review these documents, find the most important requirements and prepare a one-page summary.
Paste it into the Cowork box together with the documents. Claude will show the steps it plans and start the task.
Where it is needed, give Claude permission to use the files, applications or connected services you choose.
When the work is finished Claude presents the result, which you can review, correct or download.
Recurring tasks
You can describe the same work once and set when Claude has to do it automatically. Scheduled tasks live under Scheduled and use the same Connectors and Skills as an ordinary task.
